Day 5- Turning the Tide

Day 5 is FULL of encouragement to move our families in the right direction!

We are encouraged to be Tide Turners for our families, churches, communities.

I do not know more than one family that has been Christ lovers for generations. Most families I know have either come to know Jesus in the past 2 generations or have not know the Lord for many generations. Priscilla talks about a few reasons for this epidemic. Parents not teaching or children not being teachable. Either way, its not ok!

Ladies, we MUST pass the baton of faith to our children, friends, neighbors and even our enemies <---that last one may require quite a bit of prayer:)

I leave you with the scriptures that support this message.

I love you ladies! See you tomorrow to start off Week 2!!

-Randi

Proverbs 11:14
For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.

Proverbs 14:12
There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.

Judges 21:25
In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

Joshua 24:15
If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

  1. Randi, thanks for sharing those scriptures.

I was reading from Psalms today and from Deut 6:7 where parents are instructed to teach children dilegently. In other words instruction was continual-everywhere at all times. It is in this relationship of trust and love that head knowledge becomes heart knowledge. Especially if that truth is demonstrated in everyday life as it is modeled by that trusted mentor (parent). In psalm 78:4 God has placed a unique call on parents to pass on His glorious deeds and the wonders He has done to the next generation. This is sacred trust. God is calling His people to make Him known to their children so that the next generation would set their hope in Him. Psalm 78:7
    1-8
Oh, my people, listen to my instructions. Open your ears to what I saying, for I will speak to you in a parable. I will teach you hidden lessons from our past-
stories we have heard and known, stories our ancestors handed down to us. We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of The Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders. For he issued his laws to Jacob; he gave his instructions to Isreal. He commanded our ancestors to teach them to their children, so the next generation might know them- even the children not yet born- and they in turn will teach their own children. So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands. Then they will not be like their ancestors- stubborn, rebellious, and unfaithful, refusing to give their hearts to God.

I am extremely thankful to The Lord for leaving us His Holy Word! :)

  2. Veronica, you are so right. As a mother I think about what and how I should teach my children, constantly. Thanks lady:)
