Day 12- Less is More

Good Morning Ladies!

When I was growing up I always remember craving some sort of food, maybe cereal or a peanut butter sandwich. More times than not one or two ingredients were missing. I would get so hacked off about it. You know when you are craving something you just need it! My mom was a wonderful house keeper but being creative in the kitchen was not her thing. Not that she did not cook, she just didn't know how to cook much. Her homemade lasagna is outstanding. We ate it a lot:) She was not adventurous. Therefore, our pantry was not her priority. Don't get me wrong, I never went hungry or was without! It was just a no frills kitchen. My best friend,on the other hand, had a walk in pantry the size of most kids bedrooms. It was always stocked full with anything you could think of.  I was always envious of this pantry. So much so that now as an adult I have a huge pantry that is also stocked to the gills with anything you could want. I go out of my way to learn new recipes all the time. In fact, when I go home to my moms house I teach her how to cook new meals.

I have a biblical point here. I am slowly getting there.

My point is that I have a had a pretty simple pantry and I now have an adventurous pantry. Either way, the Lord has provided for my needs.
I am blessed as an adult to be able to afford much more than I could ever need. I think at times about how I would feel if the Lord asked me to live simpler. After examining my heart I truly feel that I would be fine. Due to past experiences and life circumstances I know that God has His reasons behind everything.

The overall important thing to remember is no matter what your life circumstances we MUST THANK GOD!!! When life is great and when life is low! Remember also that we can achieve nothing long term on our own. That is a fact!! I love you and appreciate you for listening to my ramblings.

Today's study was about being humble and staying humble.

Deuteronomy 8:14
Be careful that your heart doesn't become proud and you forget the Lord your God who brought you out from Egypt, out of the place of slavery.

Psalm 103:2
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits.

Judges 7:2
The Lord said to Gideon, "You have too many people for me to hand the Midianites over to you, or else Israel might brag: 'I did it myself.'"

Humility is not thinking unkindly about yourself. It's being willing to set yourself aside for a more important purpose.

Proverbs 30:8-9
Give me neither poverty nor riches! Give me just enough to satisfy my needs. For if I grow rich, I may deny you and say, "Who is the Lord?"

Pride is the hidden cause behind destroyed relationships, stunted spiritual growth, and thwarted emotional healing. Many of life's external difficulties find their roots in this internal reality. So how about we draw a line in the sand of our hearts and evict this horrendous tenant once and for all? <--- I LOVE THIS!!

Evict this horrendous tenant once and for all".
