Didn't anyone every tell you that attitude is everything? If no one has, then I will! ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING LADIES!!
Hi! I'm working on post 2 for today and I am on fire!
Today's lesson is full of some meat girls. Seriously! Count me convicted...
"Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighed down."
Luke 21:34
We have all been there. You are going through some 'stuff' and it is taking everything in you to keep it together. The phone rings and its your old friend Suzy. Suzy is a really good listener and you can gripe about anything and she will get in the mud right along with you. You get off the phone with Suzy and you feel better. Justified, even. But as the day progresses you start to feel a little empty. This my friends is conviction!! Take a big drink!
I will admit that at times I have been "Suzy". Its not pretty to admit that but its true. I used to always feel that it was important to let people 'keep it real'. Let them gripe about whoever if that person was bugging them.
These days I try to take a different approach on 'keeping it real'.
I don't want to be Suzy and I don't need a Suzy. We need to be the person that gives strong and sound advice. The person that gives an honest and biblical opinion. Please 'keep it real' Just a more biblical version is 'real'.
In Judges 7:3 God tells Gideon to cull out the men that are afraid and trembling.
The reason He asked this of Gideon was because He knows that fear, attitude and lack of faith spread like small pocks.
We need to be a strong hold for our friends when they are in a rut. We need to not be the Suzy spreading fear and lies. Its not always fun but stand up and be who God created you to be!
Deuteronomy 20:8
Then the officers shall add," Is anyone afraid or fainthearted? Let him go home so that his fellow soldier will not become disheartened too."
As for our own fears, the Bible instructs us 300 times throughout scripture to "Fear Not" Within 66 books it says "Fear Not" 300 times.
This was written in the study; 'The way into their blessing, discovery, deliverance, or victory could not be accompanied by fear. The Lord is committed to removing anything from your life that might promote the very thing that will hinder your progress. '
Ladies, this blog has been all over the map tonight. Things get that way when I am excited about something:) The overall lesson to take away from this is-
1. Do not be afraid
2. If you are afraid do not contaminate your fellow citizens and revert to number one.
3. Be a strong friend. Inject hope and truth into your relationships.
4. Be ready for the Lord and aware of distractions. The Lord wants us to be undistracted and ready to do His work. If we are not ready He will not send the work.
I am so enjoying the study on Gideon. In my own life I can really see how Priscilla's statement: "The Lord is committed to removing anything from your life that might promote the very thing that will hinder your progress." Some of the things that He removes from our lives seem to be really good things, like Gideon's 32,000 troops. Some of the things as in my case may have been things that we prayed for and received in the past. When He begins to remove those things it may appear that things just aren't going our way because they aren't going the way we wanted them to or thought that they should. At those times we often ask, "Why is this happening to me, Lord?" If we look at it from our perspective (focusing on what's happening), we can begin to feel sorry for ourselves, but if we try to look at it from God's perspective (focusing on Him and why He is allowing it to happen) we can get excited because He is preparing us for some task or battle that we cannot do without Him. The good thing about doing battle with Him is that He always wins! We can't pick or choose what we will surrender to God. We must surrender all, and allow Him to do with it as He pleases.

Barbara, Thank you so much for saying that. It was so well put and I feel like you are absolutely right. We need to give it all to God and just move forward as He lays it out. Thank you! ~Randi
